I took more time off for the holidays last year than I normally would. Usually if I go three nights in a row without working, I usually go pretty crazy. Towards the end of the year I was working and travelling non-stop. I had an opportunity to take a real vacation and I did. Towards the end of it, I was starting to think it was a bad idea. I was having stage withdrawls like a crack addict and I was worried that it would take some time to get my act back up to speed.
I'm back working again on the cruise ships. I did two shows on the Carnival Spirit three nights ago and I have two on the Elation tonight. My shows on the Spirit were about as good as any I've done in my career. I think it was mostly because the last four or five days before I went back to work, the shows were all I could think about. I can't wait to get onstage tonight.
